This project explores what the future might hold for us when the "internet of things" becomes fully realized. For me, it seems feasible that sensors will someday be the size of dust particles and we will be able to configure everyday objects with these data-gathering tools. What does this mean for the "smart home" of the future?

Weaving Identities

Through DesignMatters, a non-governmental organization within Art Center, and a grant given by the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance (NCIIA), the class Creating Social Value Through Design worked with communities around Lake Atitlan, Guatemala to create breakthrough change for the lake itself which is threatened by cyanobacteria and the residents of the lake who are reliant on tourism to make a living. The bacteria has threatened their livelihood immensely.

Satellite Buddies

Satellite Buddies is a 60 second film that I developed based on the assignment to document a conversation between a human and a computer (either real or imaginary). This film explores an alternate reality in which everyone on earth has their own satellite in space which watches over them and knows what the future holds.

Good Living in Mixed Reality

We are all familiar with the idea of the "smart home", in which your toaster talks to your toilet which talks to your bedstand and so on. But what else can smart homes do? This project looks at other, more ideosyncratic possibilities for the smart homes of the not-so-distant future and depict them through collage. This collage shows a home that doubles as the dweller's therapist. It is centered around mental well-being, but one has to wonder how useful it would be if your therapist was constantly watching your every move.
